Riff & Record

The recording package

Six weeks from first chord to a track you can send your friends.

Most teachers stop at “you played it right”. I have a degree in music technology — so we go one step further and actually record it. You keep the file.

How the six sessions work

01–02

Play it

Pick the song. Get it under your fingers, in time, to a click.

03

Get the tone

Amp, pedals or plugins — why your tone sounds thin, and how to fix it.

04

Track it

Mic or DI, takes, comping. What "one more take" actually means.

05

Mix it

Levels, EQ, a little reverb. Why less is nearly always more.

06

Ship it

Bounce it, check the loudness, and cut a vertical clip for your socials.

What you walk away with

  • Your finished track, as WAV and MP3
  • The project file — yours to keep working on
  • A vertical video clip for Instagram or TikTok
  • A method you can repeat on the next song, alone

Better gear and a room that behaves — the stronger option if recording is the whole point.

Gear needed: none to start. If you own an audio interface we will use it; if not, we use mine and you will know exactly what to buy — and what not to — by the end.

Whose song is it going to be?

Tell me what you want to record — even if you cannot play it yet. Especially if you cannot play it yet.
